LATEST UPDATE / NEWYDDION DIWEDDARAF:

Due to the wet weather in May & June, the Secondary Schools Relays & 800m Competition and the Swansea Harriers Year 7 Trophy Match were both called off. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that neither event will be re-scheduled again in 2019.

The Secondary Schools Relays & 800m Competition was due to be held at Carmarthen Leisure Centre on Tuesday June 4th and expected to see a good number of schools attend from the Carmarthenshire area to compete in the 4x100m, 4x200m and 800m races. This event, which has been held annually and been a great team event will return in 2020 with a date to be set.

Meanwhile, Swansea Harriers tried twice to host the club's annual Year 7 Trophy Match and it was due to be a great way of teachers and pupils getting into secondary school athletics in the Afan Nedd Tawe district and finding out their best teams ahead of the NASUWT U14 & U16 match last week. The first date on Wednesday 8th May and then the second on Friday 7th June both fell foul to the wet and windy weather which was a disappointment to all concerned at the University facility.
